I’m still catching my breath from all the excitement of the last-minute trip and the adrenalin of such a high-level competition. I’ll write more later about my personal experiences at Disney World.

But I couldn’t wait to share the news…

My daughter’s cheer squad took 3rd in the nation!!!

I couldn’t be more proud of those young girls. We have 3 different teams in different age groups. They all made it to the finals in Florida, and two of them placed 3rd in their divisions and one took 1st place yesterday, competing against teams from all over the country, including Alaska and Hawaii.

The girls had already bonded throughout the year, but now it was the parents’ turn, as we got to know one another better over the course of 4 days or so, and as we shared the emotional roller-coaster ride together. One of the moms said it was like “summer camp for adults.” How true.

The weather was lovely and warm and sunny, but I was thrilled to see snow falling as we landed at JFK yesterday.

I’m happy. Really happy.
