I’m tired.  I’ve been tired since May, I think, but now that the weather is cold and dark, I’m really tired.  I honestly think the Universe designed winter so that we would sleep a little more and do a little less.  Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t seem to buy into the idea of 6 hour work days from November to March.  We still have to do what we’ve done – we just have to do it in the dark.  I don’t like it.

Winter was made for lazy bones, hot baths, heavy blankets, yummy food, and lots of sex.  And naps.

I’m in week 3 of a new marathon training schedule, even though there is no marathon at the end of the rainbow.  My next registered race isn’t until April.  My body is feeling the impact of a more consistent schedule, and that makes me even more tired.  And it’s hard to get excited about stepping out for hours of running in the bitter cold, even if I do feel better when I’m done.

All I can say is, thank god the day after tomorrow is Friday.

  1. Hang in there Lisa! You had a great week. Summer bodies are made in the winter and winter running will pay dividends come race season again! :-). Keep up the great work!
